Far from the crowded Mont Blanc
Massif, the Queyras region of France still has
its authentic charm. The rolling hills in the
heart of this region are perfect for the ski
touring beginner, and it is St. Véran,
the highest village in Europe, that will serve
us as a base for our introduction course.

out of the camp. |
Skills
taught : |
- Ski touring
techniques.
- Evaluation of slopes and handling of risks incurred
directly with ski touring.
- How to use avalanche rescue skills (use of avalanche
transceiver, shovel and probe)
- Crevasse rescue techniques. |

The price includes :
- 5 days guide rate ; harness and helmet lent,
- Half board in huts and gite, picnic for D2 to D5
- Ceillac Lift for half day
It doesn't include :
- Ski gear for the course
- Your insurance via GENERALI : cancellation+repatriation+interruption stay : 3% total cost ; repatriation : 1% of total cost and cancellation : 2,5% total cost
- Lunches for you and the guide for the first day

Program for ski Touring in Queyras :

Monday:
|
Meeting
at 08 :00 AM at the train station of Mt. Dauphin
for a quick brieifing and to check equipment.
Afterwards we will go offpiste skiing in the ski
area of Ceillac, to get accustomed to the skis
and ski touring boots.
During the second part of the day, we will learn
basic ski touring techniques such as preparing
the equipment, how to put on skins, how to make
a kick-turn without using too much energy, etc.
We will spend the night in the Gite Les Gabelous
in St Veran.

Tuesday: |
St. Véran –
Pic de Cascavelier – St. Véran.
Elevation gain: 676 m, Descent
: 676 m.
We will ski tour up to the beautiful summit
of Pic de Cascavelier (2576m), practising what
we have learned the day before.

Wednesday: |
St Véran - La Gardiole 2621 m
Elevation gain: 900 m Descent: 900 m.
It's a nice and wild summit, with north and south descent, so we can choose where is the best snow.

Thursday
: |
St Véran -Pic Traversier 2880m- La Blanche Refuge 2500m
Elevation gain: 1000 m Descent: 500 m.
It's the most beautifull and impressive summit during this
week. Just check the first picture in this page !!

Friday
: |
La Blanche Refuge -Tour de la Tête Des Toillies -St Véran.
Elevation gain : 830 m Descent: 1460 m.
Our last day sees us ski touring around the Tête Des Toillies summit.
(3025 m), just on the foot of
the Col de Chamoussière. A splendid 1000m
descend will bring us back to St Véran
and the end of our Queyras adventure.
